Pastor Michael Halfhill (and family)
Lead Pastor
Michael Halfhill has loved hearing and telling stories since his childhood. Born and raised in Iowa, Michael answered Jesus’ call to ministry after working as a Rock & Roll Radio DJ for five years. In 1999, Pastor Michael was baptized and soon after began studying theology at Union College.
During his 20 years of ministry, he has served churches in Lincoln and Kansas City and has been a guest presenter for camp meetings, men’s retreats, and marriage seminars. He also enjoys teaching at Union Adventist University as an adjunct professor. Recently, AdventSource published his first book, Christmas Eve Stories. Pastor Michael has degrees from Iowa State University, Union College, and Andrews University. He has served as the Senior Pastor at the Piedmont Park SDA Church since 2010. He is married to the love of his life, Jeanette, and they have two amazing children, Ethan and Johanna.
Pastor Michael’s passion is to share the love of Jesus Christ and to help believers find their ministry serving the Lord and others.

Pastor Joel & Martha Navarro
Associate Family Pastor
Joel Navarro was born in Spain and raised in Switzerland. At a very early age, God used Joel’s love and admiration for his father, who was a pastor and seminary teacher, to call him to ministry. What could be better, wondered a seven-year-old Joel, than to read books, break bread with people, and share Jesus for a living?
Before moving to Lincoln, Pastor Joel worked as a pastor in Madrid, Spain, and Abilene and San Angelo, Texas. He also served as a teacher and missionary in Oregon and Hong Kong. Pastor Joel’s passion is to discover a Biblical picture of a loving and lovable God and to learn how that love can transform one’s daily living. He has degrees from the Adventist Seminary in Spain and France, and a Master’s in Divinity from Andrews University. Pastor Joel has been serving the Piedmont Park SDA Church as a Family Life and Discipleship Pastor since 2022. To his ongoing amazement, he is married to the prettiest woman in town, Martha. Together, they have two well-loved, amazing girls.

Michelle Flores has lived in Lincoln for the last 9 years. Before that, she called Texas, Louisiana, California, and Argentina home. Both of her parents are from Argentina, so she was lucky enough to spend a portion of her childhood there. She graduated from Southwestern Adventist University in 2012 with a degree in Elementary Education. She has taught in several SDA schools, including Lincoln’s own College View Academy. Since the birth of her son, Adrian, she has taken a hiatus from the classroom and chosen to be a stay-at-home mother, which she loves dearly. Her husband, Aaron, who grew up in this church, is also a teacher. Aside from their two-year-old son, they also have two cats, Meeko & Nani. She enjoys listening to audiobooks, trying out new recipes, gardening, traveling to new countries, and taking her rambunctious son on daily adventures. Michelle is ready to help out in whatever way she can!
